Mac OS X Dial-Up Setup

Click on the Apple icon at the top-left and select "System Preferences..."

Select the "Network" icon

Under "Show", choose "Modem Port" or "Internal Modem"

Click on the "TCP/IP" tab and for "Configure:" choose "Using PPP"

Now click on the "PPP" tab and start filling in the fields. First, type in a name for the connection... WHC, Hiline, TexasOnline, USAonline, Eaze.net, Caprok, Powr.net, or BasinLink... this will be whatever your email domain is.

Next, type in the dial-up access number that we provided you when you signed up with us. (If you do not have this number, please click on "Access Numbers" at the top-left of this page and search for the access number that is local to your area.) Type in your Username (Account name) and Password.

{Your username will need to be in this format: username@whc.net (for WHC users) or username@usaonline.net (for all other users... TexasOnline, USAonline, Eaze.net... etc.)}

Make sure that "Save password" is checked. And now click on "PPP Options..." and click whichever options you'd like to utilize under "Session Options". Under "Advanced Options", leave the boxes as they are. Click "Ok"

Now click on the "Proxies" tab and make sure that nothing is checked or typed in on this screen.

Click on the "Modem" tab. Make sure the correct modem is selected under "Modem:", "Enable error correction and compression in modem" is checked, "Sound:" is On, "Dialing:" is selected to Tone (unless you have Pulse dialing), and "Wait for dial tone before dialing" is checked. You can also check "Show modem status in menu bar" if you want to have that option available for easy access. Click "Apply Now"

You're done! Now whenever a program needs the internet, your computer should dial-up automatically and your connection status is shown at the top-right of your screen. You can also use this for easy connect / disconnect functionality.
